Not to be dramatic, but I think I’ve peaked this week. Perfect weather, sparkly mules, beach walks, good TV, elite-level sleep — this is my final form.

💅 Getting Dressed Like a Person Again
Went for lunch with a friend today (outfit below 💕). I’ve been loving dressing up again these last couple of years – anything floaty, comfy, and a little bit cute.

I used to live in yoga pants and sweatshirts no matter where I went, like I was auditioning for a “girl who just popped out for oat milk” role. But now I actually enjoy making an effort. It’s not about impressing anyone – it’s about feeling good for ME.
I heard someone say once (no idea where, maybe a podcast?) that you should wear the nice stuff now. And I loved that.
Why are we saving our favourite pieces for a “special occasion” that never comes?
Wear the outfit. Use the perfume. Put the jewellery on.
That said, if I’m home, I will absolutely be in a Slytherin or Game of Thrones T-shirt and pyjama pants or swearpants. But if I’m leaving the house for breakfast, the mall, or anywhere that isn’t the gym, or a supermarket snack run, I’m putting on something cute that makes me feel good.
I’ve done multiple long flights this year wearing a cream silk blouse – (paired with my Gymshark flared leggings ofcourse.)
Firstly, who even am I?!
And secondly, I love it.
Basically, business class energy, but fully capable of lunging down the aisle if needed.
And speaking of comfort-meets-style, I just ordered a pair of sparkly, jewelled mules – something I never would’ve worn a few years ago, but I will absolutely be wearing them as I head towards my mid-thirties.

☀️ Sunshine & Silence

We’ve had a few days of perfect weather this week, and it’s brought me SO much joy. I’ve been doing my usual post-gym beach walks – no earphones, which is new for me. I’ve basically had something playing since my first iPod Mini in 2004, so walking in silence feels strange… but lovely.
My thoughts are mostly just: I love this weather. I love the sun. How amazing is this? I love where I live. Wouldn’t go in the water though, sharks. God, I love this weather. It’s simple, but it’s honestly made me so happy.
I still can’t get over that I get to walk here every day – it’s ridiculous how beautiful it is.
That said, no earphones in the gym? Absolutely not.

🎧 What I’m listening to this week
💕 Lavendaire affirmations – basically a voice note from your calmest friend telling you to get your life together (nicely).
💕 Harry Potter audiobooks – Stephen Fry only, obviously. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve listened to them but they still feel like comfort food.
(Also, sidebar – Voldemort’s résumé is embarrassing.
Like, imagine having unlimited power, a pet snake, and seven backup souls, yet still getting absolutely run through by a bunch of kids doing homework.
Honestly, pathetic.)
💕 Disney Calm Night Piano Collection – my new obsession. It’s what I put on at night while the lamp’s dimmed and I’m winding down.
I’m not joking when I say I’m an exceptional sleeper. It could go on my CV. Getting into bed with this playing makes me genuinely happy – like, small-dance-in-the-sheets happy.
🏋🏽♀️ The Great Callisthenics Pain
Started Week 1 of an eight-week callisthenics programme and my calves have been sore since Monday.
Pretty sure it’s a mix of doing a ten-minute treadmill run in the wrong trainers (rookie error) and attempting pistol squats like I knew what I was doing. I don’t understand how people do them so easily – I did three sets of five baby ones on each leg, holding onto my foot for dear life with a bench behind me, because there was a 0% chance of anything that resembled a full one yet. 😅
But honestly, I’ve loved having a new challenge in my workouts this week. I’m such a creature of habit and usually stick to the same routine, so this has been a fun (and humbling) change.
💻 Tech Things (and Mild Panic)
Apple did something cute – my MacBook updated and now shows random photos from my Family album on the home screen. Every time I open it, a new one pops up – Mum, Dad, my brother – and I’m just like “awww”.
It’s made me smile this week, because when do we ever actually look at our old photos?
Meanwhile, my phone had a meltdown.
Every single photo now says it was taken on 12th October at 5:27 pm.
No order, no dates, just every single photo under 12th October in absolutely no order.
Thanks, Samsung.
Thankfully Google Photos had everything backed up – small mercies.
🍿 TV, Taylor & Trying to Chill
Currently obsessed with Celebrity Traitors (how did I miss this show until now?) and Bake Off (watched it with my parents a few weeks ago and it’s pure serotonin).
Also: I’ve decided to officially become a Swiftie. I love her whole aura and think she’s a genius for what she’s achieved, but I’d somehow never properly listened to her music until now. I’m working my way through her albums at the moment –
- 1989 – love.
- Red – also love
- Lover – not my fave, but “Lover” the song is a banger
- The Life of a Show Girl – love!
🌞 That’s the Update
Sunshine, sparkly shoes, beach walks, and good sleep – not exactly a plot twist, but it’s been such a nice week.
