Somewhere between breakfast service and beach setup, every superyacht stewardess hits that moment where the fridge is full of half jugs of juice, a tray of cut fruit that’s starting to look sad, and one lonely lime rolling around the garnish drawer.
Instead of pouring it all away (or pretending you’ll “use it for crew smoothies later”), here are five superyacht welcome drinks – each with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions – that you can make with what’s already onboard.
They look fresh, taste good, and don’t require a single WhatsApp to the provisioner.

#1. The Passionfruit & Pineapple Cooler

Vibe:
Fresh, tropical, and easy to throw together with what’s already onboard. Perfect for the Caribbean season and a good way to use up leftover pineapple juice and ripe passionfruit.
Ingredients:
- 75ml pineapple juice
- 1–2 passionfruit (pulp + seeds)
- 40ml white rum
- Squeeze of lime juice
- Ice
Method:
- Add the pineapple juice, passionfruit, rum, and lime to a shaker with ice.
- Shake gently, then pour everything (seeds included) into a glass over ice.
- Stir lightly to mix.
Serving Suggestion:
Garnish with a small edible flower or two, as in the picture, or a thin slice of pineapple.
Non-Alcoholic Version:
Replace the rum with soda water or coconut water.
#2. The Lemon Garden Spritz 🍋

Vibe:
Clean, crisp, and simple. A good welcome drink when it’s hot and you’ve got leftover lemon slices or herbs from lunch prep.
Ingredients:
- 40ml gin
- 60ml soda water or tonic
- 20ml lemonade or elderflower cordial
- Ice
- Lemon slice
- Edible flowers or herbs for garnish
Method:
- Fill a large wine glass with ice.
- Add the gin and lemonade (or cordial), then top with soda or tonic.
- Stir gently.
Serving Suggestion:
Garnish with a lemon wheel and a few edible flowers, just like the photo. Mint or basil also works if you’ve got extra from garnish trays.
Non-Alcoholic Version:
Swap the gin for extra soda and a squeeze of fresh lemon.
#3. The Lavender Lemonade Spritz 💜

Vibe:
Floral, light, and summery – a prettier version of a gin lemonade with a hint of lavender. Easy to batch for guests.
Ingredients:
- 40ml gin
- 80ml lemonade (still or sparkling, whichever’s onboard)
- 15ml lavender syrup
- Soda water, to top
- Ice
- Lemon wheel and a sprig of lavender to garnish
Method:
- Fill a glass with ice.
- Add the gin, lemonade, and lavender syrup.
- Stir gently, then top with soda water.
- Garnish with a lemon wheel and lavender sprig.
Serving Suggestion:
Serve in a large wine glass or highball so the colour shows through. Perfect for cocktail hour when it’s too hot for anything heavier.
Non-Alcoholic Version:
Skip the gin and add extra lemonade and soda for a lavender mocktail.
#4. The Dragonfruit Colada

Vibe:
Creamy, cold, and quietly tropical – it’s smooth, fresh, and perfect for when you’ve got ripe dragonfruit.
Ingredients:
- ½ dragonfruit (scooped and blended)
- 40ml white rum
- 40ml coconut milk or coconut cream (depending on how rich you want it)
- 10ml lime juice
- A handful of ice
Method:
- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Pour into a chilled glass.
- Optional: fine-strain for a smoother texture.
Serving Suggestion:
Garnish with a thin slice of dragonfruit or lime. Serve cold – it looks best in a coupe or margarita glass.
Non-Alcoholic Version:
Swap the rum for extra coconut milk and a squeeze more lime.
#5. Frozen Watermelon Margarita 🍉

Vibe:
Cold, fresh, and summer in a glass. The easiest way to use up leftover watermelon – blended with tequila and lime for a light, icy drink is sooo easy to drink.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup diced watermelon (frozen works best)
- 40ml tequila
- 15ml lime juice
- 1 tsp honey or simple syrup (optional, if the watermelon isn’t sweet enough)
- A handful of ice
Method:
- Add everything to a blender and blend until smooth and slushy.
- Taste and adjust with a little more lime or honey if needed.
- Pour into a chilled glass.
Serving Suggestion:
Garnish with a watermelon wedge and a mint sprig.
Non-Alcoholic Version:
Replace the tequila with soda or coconut water for a fruity frozen mocktail.

Every Caribbean season ends the same way: too much fruit, not enough fridge space, and a heroic plan to turn it all into crew smoothies that lasts about three hours.
Realistically, the fruit gets rescued, blended with rum, and suddenly everyone’s claiming it was “guest testing.”
Either way, the drinks are cold, the pantry’s clearer, and no one’s mad about it.
